“Blogging “ a New Horizon ... No limits
The conference of the Bloggers in
Diwaniya
20th January 2011
Holding the title of “Blogging “ a New Horizon ... No limits, the
Bloggers in Diwaniya started the conference which was held by the Congregation
of the Iraqi Bloggers in the South on Saturday 20th January. I was the
guest of the meeting and the lecturer. I discussed the prospects of blogging in
Iraq and the impact of blogging as well as the blogs as a window through which
the citizen can express his opinion. The seminar was received by active attendees
who started to debate through interventions, comments and questions.
FEO, cyber law, ROI and JPL all these laws were discussed in
the conference. The attendees asked about the copies of these laws because they
never read it before or see it; they blamed Iraqi media outlets, and criticized
the media role in shading lights about such important things. The attendees
talked about the CSOs role to support and help people by educating them about
the laws.
The knowledge of blogging was the main theme in the
discussions, most of the attendees showed their hopes to get blogs but they did
not know who to do it, then we agreed about certain ways to get this aim. One
of these ways is the trainings and workshops; it is the main and most important
way to spreed the blogging knowledge. SCOs who attended the conference
suggested the idea of (the Electronic-Bus) a bus that contains a computers,
internet access and professionals. The idea is to make the Bus wanders in the
rural and cities to teach people blogging in accordance to the program and
system.
The code of conduct of the blogging in Iraq was one of the
themes that were discussed in the meeting which is concerned with issues like
the use of blogging for defamation, dissemination and publishing things that
harm the reputation of others. Dissemination of rumors lies and distorting
facts as well as violence in society, and it was concluded that such practices
should be ruled by the code of conduct and the supports of international
organizations in Iraq to organize the code of conduct for Iraqi bloggers is
needed.
Finally, I thanked the three bloggers who attended UNESCO's
training in the mid of 2011 from Diwanya and who worked hard to teach others
and made the number of bloggers increased into more than 80 bloggers in this
city, and the number of the blogs became 230 blogs, they established the
congregation of Iraqi bloggers in south. This is the real achievement and the
evidence about the good Iraqi bloggers
